Edgar Allen Floe | "I Don't Know Why" (by andy on 08/27/2008)
Edgar Allen Floe was nice enough to drop off a new AOR blog as he preps for the release of The Road to Streetwise Mixtape on September 8th. This new blog can be read HERE. The mixtape features production from fellow Justus Leaguers such as 9th Wonder and Khrysis, plus J. Wheels, Blunt and more. We'll keep you posted on how to acquire said mixtape. Direct Link
6th Sense ft. Naledge (Kidz In the Hall) | "I Wanna Tell Ya Remix"   (by andy on 08/27/2008)
My first exposure to 6th Sense was the "I Wanna Tell Ya" video that dropped last year. (Check AOR TV) If it wasn't last year then damn I'm losing track of time. Anyway, every dope song deserves a dope remix. Naledge from Kidz In the Hall jumped on and here we are. Direct Link
LL Cool J | "You Better Watch Me"   (by Rewd on 08/27/2008)
Uncle L is about to release his 13th studio album Exit 13 September 9th.  Here is the first track that’s making its rounds with production by Marley Marl. The album will be the last for LL's record deal with Def Jam Recordings, a deal which has lasted for over twenty two years, making it the longest single hip hop deal to date. Direct Link
The Primeridian ft. No Mercy | "Change the Meridian (Hard Rock)"   (by andy on 08/26/2008)
First I'll say that whoever wrote The Primeridian's press release must have typed it in a foreign language and plugged it into an English translator. "To add vocal variety Simeon and Tree have added a third mc to fold Race." All jokes aside, the Chicago trio tapped only European producers for their fresh new album Da Mornin' Afta, including Nicolay from the Netherlands. Definitely keep an eye out for this one. DJ Muggs & Planet Asia | "Sleeper Cell" (by KendredSpirit on 08/26/2008)
DJ Muggs & Planet Asia's Pain Language is #1 on my personal "most anticipated albums of 2008" list. I've heard close to a third of the album and with the exception of perhaps Elzhi, it's straight defecating on everything else. I'm aware that close to a third is not enough to judge the merit of an entire LP but I'm not worried...Muggs rarely disappoints and while Asia has spit on some less than stellar beats in his career, he has more than what he needs this go-round. Be on the lookout for an interview with the duo coming soon. Direct Link
Common Market | "Gol'Dust"   (by KendredSpirit on 08/26/2008)
It should be obvious that the duo of Common Market is a favorite here at AOR. Just look a few entries down. It should also be obvious that September 9th is an important day for us as it's the release date of the duo's new LP, Tobacco Road. Direct Link
Illa J | "We Here (Prod. by J. Dilla)"   (by andy on 08/25/2008)
There is still one member of the Yancey family invading  the airwaves. Of course I'm referring to Illa J, the younger brother of the late J. Dilla. Dilla's sibling gained access to a vault of beats held by Michael Ross, the founder of Delicious Vinyl. The result is a 12" including "We Here" and "R U Listenin" featuring Guilty Simpson This will all culminate in the forthcoming Yancey Boys LP. Direct Link
88 Keys ft. Kanye West | "Stay Up! (Viagra)"   (by andy on 08/25/2008)
88 Keys has quietly built up production credits for artists like Black Star, Mos Def, Musiq, The Pharcyde, Macy Gray and even 3LW. With Kanye West acting as Executive Producer (and guest on "Stay Up!"), 88 has stepped to center stage for his debut album The Death of Adam. In the meantime you can download the Adam's Case Files Mixtape HERE, featuring Guilty Simpson, Kid Cudi, Tanya Morgan and more. Direct Link
DJ Design ft. Phat Kat & Grip Grand | "Wild Ones"   (by andy on 08/24/2008)
Along with being an early member of the Stones Throw roster, DJ Design produced the first two Foreign Legion albums and started his own label, Look Records. Design's imprint has released projects by A.G., Phat Kat, Grip Grand and Georgia Anne Muldrow & Dudley Perkins. His new album Jetlag has been under construction since 2004 and features appearances by Phat Kat, Party Arty, Ace Hustle, Guilty Simpson, Oh No, Roc C and more. Jetlag drops on September 16th. Common Market ft. Funklove | "Nina Sing" (by andy on 08/23/2008)
I'm not big on making lists, but if I were to come up with a list of top producers at the moment, there's no doubt Sabzi would be near the top. The skilled beatmaker belongs to both Blue Scholars and Common Market, which happen to be the two best Hip Hop acts coming out of the Northwest. At least in my opinion. Whether you prefer Geologic (Blue Scholars) or RA Scion (Common Market) is just a matter of personal taste. Tobacco Road drops on September 9th. Direct Link
  A.W.O.L. (A Way Of Life) | "F.R.E.S.H."   (by andy on 08/23/2008)
We got our first taste of New Jersey's Sajj Moroc on "Fall", produced by The Custodian of Records. That song can be heard if you dig deeper into the New Joints archives. A.W.O.L. aka A Way Of Life is Sajj's group with DJ Brownbum. Check them out at myspace.com/awayoflifemusic. Direct Link
Hell Razah | "Indian Giver"   (by KendredSpirit on 08/22/2008)
Hell Razah's new solo LP, Ultra Sounds of a Renaissance Child is set for a September 23rd release. It will also be his last album under the moniker Hell Razah. He plans on going by either Heaven Razah or RazahRubiez from then on. God, I hope he chooses the latter. Anyway, enjoy the "Hell" while you can, check out "Indian Giver" and grab the disc when it drops. Direct Link
East Coast Avengers (Esoteric, Trademarc & DC The MIDI Alien) | "Dear Michelle"   (by andy on 08/22/2008)
It should come as no surprise that Esoteric's East Coast Avengers have been censored on Myspace due to their contraversial new single "Kill Bill O'Reilly." The song was removed from their player along with the promotional graphics. Michelle Malkin, who was also targeted in the single, responded in her blog and said: "Don’t they have anything better to do? Rides to pimp? Ho’s to diss? Bling to steal?" It's good to know she has an elementary school perception of Hip Hop. "Dear Michelle" takes aim at Michelle and the recent censorship. Direct Link
Ill Bill | "Hour of Reprisal Sampler"   (by KendredSpirit on 08/22/2008)
Ill Bill's The Hour of Reprisal is set for a September 16th release but in the meantime, he has offered us a six-song sampler which includes a track with Immortal Technique, one with Raekwon and the controversial "White N****r." If you still can't get enough of Ill Bill, be on the lookout for his tour with Sean Price coming soon. Direct Link
Willy Northpole | "The Story"   (by Rewd on 08/21/2008)

LoDeck & Omega One | "No Rims"   (by andy on 08/20/2008)
The press release for LoDeck & Omega One's Postcards From the Third Rock is as every bit as intriguing as the music. "An escape from our contemporary world. A trip across the globe, from isolated Pacific Islands and the streets of New York City, all the way to the bars in Copenhagan. A collection of Earth Stories, both personal and global. Staring out the mundane windows of the 9-to-5 trap...." Look out for their album on November 4th. Direct Link
The Game ft Nas | "Letter to the King"   (by Rewd on 08/18/2008)
The Game’s L.A.X. is almost upon us and the word on the street is it’s a solid banger. Make sure to show your support on August 26th when the album drops.

Ron Contour (Moka Only) | "Krispykreme Pen"   (by andy on 08/17/2008)
An artist with as many releases as Moka Only probably has to mix it up every once in a while just to keep things fresh. Enter the Ron Contour alias. Hotdog, the third album by Ron Contour, was entirely produced by his "alter ego" Moka Only. So I guess Ron Contour is rhyming and Moka Only is producing? Now I'm just confused. Direct Link
The Game ft Common | "Angel"   (by KendredSpirit on 08/17/2008)
I, for one, have honestly not been looking forward to The Game's upcoming LAX. Although I absolutely loved his debut, The Documentary, his redundant name dropping started to bug me on his follow-up, Doctor's Advocate (not to mention it's lack of "The Doctor"). But I give credit where credit is due and "Angel" is a good track and putting Common on it, needless to say, is definitely a big plus. Direct Link
Elzhi | "Brag Swag" [aor pick] (by KendredSpirit on 08/16/2008)
It's still early but I'll put it out there anyway: The Preface is the best rap album of 2008. A lot can happen in four months but it's going to take a lot to top this one. Elzhi does his usual damage to the mic and this is one of my top 5 personal favorite joints on the album. However, I had to take some points from him for doing a song with the word "swag" in it. Screw Hip-Hop etiquette, I hate that word. Direct Link
