I know it's been a minute, I been tryna jus collect and gather myself so my writing wouldn't seem like an incessant rant, but that's out the window. This whole shit goin on with me has really REALLY made me think about the way things are in our society.
I been meaning to get things back up to speed, but I just been on the move since I got back home. Touring is a lot of fun, but its seriously way harder than anyone gives it credit for being. Overall the tour was a success.
Hello everyone, I'm finally back with another blog to let y'all know the latest about my current situation. Quite a few things took place since the last time I posted on here. I lost my recording space, the release of my latest project was put in jeapordy
Let’s get one thing clear about racism. It makes shady cab rides from a good ol’ boy, who will take you anywhere in Austin for 10 bucks, uncomfortable every time. I guess I can stomach a side of hate for such a cheap ride.

Its been a minute since my last actual blog on ArtOfRhyme.com. It was difficult trying to manage my own blog (and career) as well as my AOR blog. Also, I had to stop touring because I kept getting sick every time I left the country.
I know this isn't necessarily related to hiphop music directly, but since Hip Hop is a lifestyle and a culture I felt like it was okay to mention. Tomorrow (01/20/09), Barack Obama will be sworn in as the next President of the United States of America.
Oh and to the one dude that said I was "supposedly running" in the video. Boy! Look at my shadow in the video you can SEE me running you nincompoop!

Yo, what up A.O.R. (Art Of Rhyme for those who are acronymially challenged). I've been really busy lately working this god awful job at this overpriced mediocore place they call Subway. I hate it there. Fuck Jared. Fuck Subway. Lol.
History was made last night. For the first time ever, America elected a black man, Barack Obama, to be the next President of the United States. Chicago was an absolute madhouse. And when Obama made his speech in the heart of Grant Park,...

Have you ever worked on something for so long that you have no idea how people will react to it? I know all artists get this feeling more often than not; I can’t be alone on this one. You clock hours crafting something that takes on ...
What's good, I been moving around and trying to put the finishing touches on my debut album "If Not Me... Then Who?". This is the subject at hand. What are the people looking for in music today?
One thing I'm learning about this industry...even at the "underground/indie/under the radar" level...There are people that will still try to hold your shit back, whether they realize it or not.
Man, hold up, it went down for real this weekend. UGK legend Bun-B was playing a free show backed by the live band Orgone, and ya boys Crew54 were mos def in the spot. I really shouldn't have to say anything about Bun-B...
Something got fucked up in hip hop between the time frame of 1998-2002. During those crucial 4 years hip hop made a Quantum Leap into a Billion Dollar Industry, artists like Puff Daddy, Jay-Z, Nelly and many more were opening the eyes...
Sometimes people do things that don’t make sense. For instance, why is that when someone leaves you a voicemail, they talk extra slow, with pauses, ummmmms, uhhhhhs, talkin to other people in the background, laughing, waiting until...
If you’ve ever admired a hip hop artist for speaking the truth—about politics, religion, drugs, race, war, or the struggles of growing up in a crazy world--or even just for their clever word play--George Carlin was your kind of guy.
Now, during my comeup as an emcee. I listened to alot of different artists. During my post-eminem periode, I came across a guy called Cage (who had an ongoing beef with Eminem at that time). He inspired me in many ways...
Has anyone noticed a lot of our favorite artists from yesteryear suck now? Although I figure they are stuck with either 2 options. One is to do a style of music that got their fans aboard in the first place.
So, fuck Juganot. Okay not exactly. But he disappointed me. We've been friends for like 15 years, he was there for me when my mom passed away, I considered us really close. He's plugged in to all the DJ's in NY...
hey hey - I guess blogging is harder then I assumed it would be. I really need a laptop. I've been traveling pretty much non-stop for the last year. In February me, my wife, my daughter, Ohmega Watts and Theory Hazit all hit the road together for 3 weeks.

You can catch me weekly in Harlem at a place called The Den (2150 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10037) with Igmar Thomas and The Cypher. It's a dope band including a regular rotation of musicians doing their thang inside and outside the industry.
I'm in Brooklyn, USA now. The first day of the CMJ festivities. Last night I was in Boston doing a show at the Paradise Lounge with a gang of dope local mcs and djs. Boston's a good town for music and college girls right out of the gym.
Anyone who knows me knows me, knows Im not fond of hipsters. Get the fuck outta here with your extra skinny ass jeans, your thin ass cardigan with contrasting v neck tees. Since when was it hot for niggas to look more and more like fuckin queers for fashions sake? Certain things Im never gonna subscribe to despite what fashion dictates is hot. I'm definitely hating the fact "hood" dudes are dressing like this too.
HipHop is Dead?! To quote The Great AceLover a.k.a. Ace Gutta. Oh Hell No!!!! If this was true I'm sure the world would fall into utter chaos and violence. I Thank The Energy of The Creator for creation for HipHop every day
I remember while working at this mom and pop record store, a customer came in and requested one of the older R.Kelly cds. I get what she asks for without any fuss until she asks; “Are you a big fan of R. Kelly too?” I respond honestly by telling her that I’m not, and she gasps in disbelief.
My album beats have arrived ...Took you long enough Sol, lol.
I now have all 10 beats in iTunes under my temporary Album Image. I probably won't even worry about the final cover design till the album is in the mixing and mastering phase.
